Luxembourg – N2 Round 17: Black Star edges Grengewald by one point

The most exciting game of round 17 in the N2 took place in Mersch. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Grengewald (8-9) to seventh ranked Black Star (7-10) 69-68 on Saturday evening. Black Star maintains seventh place with 7-10 record. Grengewald at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Black Star are looking forward to face higher ranked BC Mess (#4) in Mondercange in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grengewald will play at home against the league’s leader Racing and will have a slim chance for a victory.An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Luxembourg. Leader Racing faced 3rd placed Kordall Steelers. Host Racing (17-0) defeated guests from Rodange (12-5) 77-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kordall Steelers. Undefeated Racing have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-0 record. Kordall Steelers at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Racing will play against Grengewald (#6) in Niederanven in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kordall Steelers will play at home against the league’s second-placed Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Bottom-ranked Preizerdaul (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-44 loss to eighth ranked Soleuvre (4-13) in Belvaux on Sunday evening. Soleuvre maintains eighth place with 4-13 record. Preizerdaul lost their seventeenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings. Soleuvre will meet higher ranked T.Hesperange (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
